View full descriptionĪpplied Social Sciences Index & Abstracts (ASSIA) The Editors’ Award is at the discretion of the Editor of Advances, in discussion with the Guest Editors of the Special Editions.Manuscripts, artwork and rare print material on native North American history and European settlement. In addition, for Special Editions, the Editors’ Award will be given to an article that also addresses the aims of the Special Edition. For general issues of Advances, the Editors’ Award will be for a scholarly work of a high standard, either a full length article or a practice reflection.
The Advances Editors’ Award is a $250 prize, awarded each issue to an outstanding article that speaks to the aims of the issue in which it was published. All article submissions that report on empirical findings must include a statement regarding ethical approval, exemption from ethical approval, or demonstrated consideration of ethical requirements.įor more information on publishing your article in Advances contact:Įditor, Advances in Social Work and Welfare. Please email the Editor with offers of books for review. Book reviews of up to 1,200 words may be commissioned by the editors. All submissions must conform to the presentation and referencing style of the journal (see “Preparation of Copy” in the below Advances Author Guidelines 2020). All submissions to Advances in Social Work & Welfare Education are peer reviewed with the final decision made by the Editor or members of the Editorial Board. There are four sections in which articles may be published: Full Articles, Reflective Narratives, Teaching Notes or New Voices. Submissions from students and field educators are particularly encouraged, as are research or discussion articles that focus on field education and practice teaching. However, a diversity of writing styles, voices and methodologies is welcome including, but not limited to, first person and a yarning space. The material should be original and professionally presented. Articles that present innovative or challenging approaches to current educational philosophy and research methodology are particularly encouraged. The journal is committed to a decolonised scholarly space where both the articles published, and the processes of the Advances Editorial Board and Peer Reviewers, actively work towards a collegial atmosphere in the pursuit of high quality social work and welfare scholarship.
The Advances in Social Work & Welfare Education journal aims to showcase material which is of relevance to social work, welfare and community development educators in trans-Tasman and international contexts and, where applicable, to link this with international social work concerns.
We encourage submissions from both established and new writers. Our journal has moved to open access and is now available HERE as well as via the Informit database increasing the exposure of papers published in Advances. Advances in Social Work and Welfare Education
